Speaking of fans of rivals, tonight as I was coming home from watching the game at a friend's, I got onto the bus and the French-Canadian driver says to me, looking up at my rather obnoxious Habs hat (It has no less than three CHs and some other regalia on it), "Non, non, non, il faut mettre un casquette de les Bruins!"
For those who don't speak French: "No, no, no, you have to wear a Bruins hat!"
Gobsmacked. Didn't think a French Bruins fan existed.

for some reason, no matter how much better their overall record in a given year, the canadiens always seem to lose the games against the oilers. i suppose i should be grateful the boy didn't demand a more humiliating penance.
