Should I feel guilty about that?Probably.But I don't.
Well, Slovakia lost, but I'm with you E -- and our young goaltender of the near future. Markov's playing for Russia, and Plekanec for the Czechs, but I'm pulling for Mark Streit and Swiss. I like them underdogs.
This short, 10-word entry just seems wrong.
anon- i'm going with slovakia, czech republic 2nd. no disrespect to streit and markov, but they're older guys with a lot of experience. i think halak will get the most out of a good run, i like that he's getting to face a lot of the same guys he'll have to face next year (insha'allah). and in spite of the loss, i think our lil' lemur did quite well. nice to watch him, anyway. can't wait til canada plays the czechs...matt- i know! it's terribly, horribly, catastrophically wrong! but i am so badly writer's blocked these days, i can't seem to come up with anything competent to say about anything. *sigh*
It's only wrong if you feel some sort of nationalistic attachment to your adopted land, or I suppose if you even consider Canada your adopted land.I'm as hockey-nationalistic as they come (as you may have noticed), but i would still have trouble giving you crap for picking a hometown hockey player over another countries national team.
